[FORUM] What advice would you give to those wanting to lead better lives?

As I blogged yesterday at Demography Matters, although claims that the Abkhaz of the Caucasus enjoy super-longevity are likely false, it is true that many of the dietary and social elements of traditional Abkhaz culture--moderation above all, basically--did seem to help the Abkhaz lead pretty fulfilled lives.

This sort of thing interests me greatly. Ever since I got my rather extreme and worrisome biochemical imbalances under control, my psychological therapy has consisted of the sorts of therapies intended to help people get a grip on things, to find ways to lead better and more fulfilled lives. I'm not the only person who faces these issues. I'd argue, in fact, that it's a challenge for all human beings.

So. What's your advice? How do you live your life in such a way that you feel happy? Are there techniques you've heard about that you'd like to implement?
