[NON BLOG] "I want to ride my bicycle"

I really have to thank whichever one of my Kimagure Orange Road co-watchers pointed me to the below video, a pairing of a scene from the anuime Golden Boy with German singer Blümchen's 1996 cover of Queen's 1978 song "Bicycle Race". I just love this fan-made video so much: the animation style's nice and funny, and although the song's uninspred vocals drag it down a bit, the rapid techno beat is an improvement that really unleashes the song's meditative potential.

And, of course, there's the fact that it's all about bicycling.

I've always liked biking; it's always been important to me, as a mode of transport and as a meditative activity, muscles working smoothly while streets are carefully navigated, all a harmonious whole. That, as some of you might have guessed, is one reason that clueless and self-entitled cyclists who claim a right to bike without any limits so angers me; I don't like people who take a sport that I like and jettison all the rules without concern to themselves, blaming other people if things go wrong. Things have to be done properly

Last night was my first bike ride this year, actually, from home to book club in the village. Today, who knows? The Toronto Islands are always beautiful.
